RESOLUTION NUMBER 7009 (CCS)

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE
CALIFORNIA HOMEOWNERSHIP ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the CIty CounCIl of the City of Santa Monica
(hereinafter the "City") is authorIzed to apply to the Department
of Houslng and CommunIty Development for fundIng under the Cal-
1fornla Homeownershlp Asslstance Program; and
WHEREAS, Pursuant to Sections 50775. et seq., of the Cal-
Iforn1a Health and Safety Code, the California Department of
Housing and Commun1ty Development (hereinafter the "State") 1S
authorIzed to provide funds for the California Homeownership As-
SIstance Program; and
WHEREAS, the CIty of Santa MonIca, a local publIC agency
organIzed under the ConstItution and statutes of the State of
CalIfornIa, is elIgIble to receIve funds; and
WHEREAS, the Department of HOUSIng and CommunIty Develop-
ment may award the CIty of Santa MonIca a cond1t1onal fund1ng
comm1tment under the CalifornIa Homeownershlp ASSIstance Program:

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The C1ty of Santa Monica 1S hereby author1zed
to enter into an agreement w1th the State to accept a financ1al
comm1tment 1n an amount not to exceed Seven Hundred and Fifty
Thousand Dollars ($750,0@0) for purposes of providing homeowner-
Sh1p assistance loans for el1g1ble households.
SECTION 2. The C1ty Manager or an author1zed des1gnee 1S
hereby author1zed to negotiate and execute an agreement with the
State and any amendments thereto on behalf of the C1ty of Santa
Monica as requ1red 1n order to part1c1pate in the Cal1fornia
Homeownership Ass1stance Program.
SECTION 3. The C1ty Clerk shall certify to the adopt1on of
th1S Resolut1on, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
1n full force and effect.
