RESOLUTION NO. 6870{CCS)

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA APPROVING THE BUDGET FOR
THE FISCAL YEAR 1984-85
WHEREAS, the proposed budget for the fiscal year
1983-1984 was submitted to the City Council thirty-f1ve (35) days
prior to July 1, 1984: and
WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing on said
budget after a notice of said budget hearing was published not
less than ten (10) days prior thereto; and
WHEREAS, after said pub11c hearing, the City Council
considered further its proposed budget:
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
That the budget for the f1scal year
1984-85 as subm1tted by the City Manager and revised by the City
Council which budget is entitled "City of Santa Monica, Proposed
Budget, 1984-1985", a copy of which budget is attached hereto, is
hereby approved and adopted. In adopt1ng said budget, the City
Council intends to and by this Section does adopt and approve the
total
operating
appropriation
for
each departmental and
non-departmental operating budget, consisting of Salaries and
Wages, Supplies and Expense, and Capital Outlay maJor expend1ture

categories, each program category of the capital improvements
budget, and the revenue detail, and does authorize the City
Manager to allot by major expenditure category as appropriated.
SECTION 2. That in adopt~ng said budget, the City
Council does hereby reappropriate the unencumbered balances of
the 1983-1984 Cap~tal Improvements Budget consisting of not to
exceed $B52,437 from the General Fund "Ganned" reserve account
and not to exceed $14,315 from the Parks and Recreation Fund
"Ganned" reserVe account; and not to exceed the amounts from the
1983-84 Cap1tal Improvements Budget for the respective funds:

SECTION 3.
That the budget of the Redevelopment
Agency has been reviewed by the City Council and is hereby
approved and adopted.
SECTION 4.
That a certified copy of said budget be
filed with the D~rector of Finance/City Controller and with the
City Clerk and certified coples of sa~d budget be reproduced and
made available for use as directed by Section 1505 of the Charter
of said City.
SECTION 5.
The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoptlon of thlS resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect,
