CA:RMM:rmemerg9 City Council Meeting 8-28-84 Santa Monica, California RESOLUTION NUMBER 6901 (CCS) (City Council Series) A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA PROCLAIMING THE CONTINUED EXISTENCE OF THE LOCAL EMERGENCY WHEREAS, Municipal Code Section 2305 authorizes the Director of Emergency SerVlces to proclaim the existence or threatened existence of a local emergency when the City of Santa Monica is affected or likely to be affected by a public calamity and the Clty Council is not in sessionr and WHEREAS, commencing on January 27, 1983, conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property have arisen within the City of Santa Monica caused by storm, high tides, and heavy surfr and WHEREAS, the City Council was not in session on January 27, 1983; and WHEREAS, on January 27, 1983, the Director of Emergency Services of the City of Santa Monica did proclaim the existence of a local emergency within the City of Santa Monicar and WHEREAS, on February 1, 1983, the City Council adopted Resolution Number 6621 (CCS), ratifying, confirming, and approving, the proclamation of local emergency by the Director of Emergency Servicesr and 1 . . WHEREAS, commencing on March 1, 1983, conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property have arisen within the City of Santa Monica caused by storm, high tides, and heavy s~f~ a~ WHEREAS, the City Council was not in session at the time of conditions giving rise to the emergency~ and WHEREAS, on March 1, 1983, the Director of Emergency Services of the City of Santa Monica did proclaim the existence of a local emergency within the City of Santa Monica~ and WHEREAS, on March 8, 1983, the City Council adopted Resolution Number 6642 (CCS), ratifying, confirming, and approving, the proclamation of local emergency by the Director of Emergency Services: and WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 8630, the City Council has reviewed the need to continue the local emergency, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The local emergency as proclaimed by the Director of Emergency Services on January 27, 1983, shall be deemed to continue to exist in the City of Santa Monica until its termination is proclaimed by the City Council of the City of Santa Monica. SECTION 2. The local emergency as proclaimed by the Director of Emergency Services on March 1, 1983, shall be deemed to continue to exist in the City of Santa Monica until its termination is proclaimed by the City Council of the City of Santa Monica. 2 . .
