RESOLUTION NO.
6904 (CCS)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING
THE HOLDING OF A PARADE ON SEPTEMBER 8, 1984 ON A ROUTE
OTHER THAN THE OFFICIAL CITY ROUTE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 4241 of the Santa Monica
Munlclpal Code, the City Councl1 may authorlze a parade route
d1fferent from the offic1al Clty parade route set forth there1n,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That on September 8, 1984, between the hours
of 10:30 a.m. and 12:00 noon, partic1pants in the Pico Neighbor-
hood Cultural Summer Festival may and are hereby authorized to
conduct a parade along the following route:
The parade will start in Santa Monica on Michigan at
Lincoln and proceed east to 17th Street, 17th Street
north to Olympic, OlyrnplC east to 20th Street, 20th
Street south to V1rginia Avenue and proceed east on
Virgin1a Avenue to 21st Street.

SECTION 2. Permission to conduct the parade 1S granted
upon the following cond~t~ons:
A. Floats, cabs, bands, clowns, breakers, cars, ponies,
and dr~ll teams w~ll not be brought to staging area
on 9th Street prior to 8:00 a.m. on Saturday,
September 8, 1984.
B. pico Ne~ghborhood Association w~ll provide for
clean-up of any animal feces along the parade
route.
C. The Santa Monica Pol~ce Department will provide the
necessary number of police officers for crowd and
traff~c control along the parade route.
D. The Pico Ne~ghborhood Assoc~ation will obtain the
required residential signatures and addresses for
the clos~ng of Virginia Avenue between Cloverf~eld
and 20th Street and for 21st Street between Virgin~a
Avenue and Pico Boulevard.
E. The Pico Neighborhood Association will take all
poss~ble steps to abate no~se.

F. The pico Ne~ghborhood Association shall pay all
C~ty costs incurred in the conduct of the Parade.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall cert~fy to the adop-
tion of this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same
shall be in full force and effect.
