RESOLUTION NO. 6914(CCS)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA APPROVING THE APPLICATION
FOR BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN FUNDS AUTHORIZED
UNDER SE821
WHEREAS, SB821 provides that 2% of each County's
total local Transportat~on Fund be annually set as~de and used
to fund the development of b~cycle and pedestr~an facllltles; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Mon~ca has planned a bikeway
system In conformance with spec~ficat~ons of Caltrans Plann~ng and
Des~gn Criterla for B~keways in Cal~fornia and the Reg~onal
Transportat~on plan; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica desires to improve
bicycle and pedestrian facilit~es wlthin the City utilizing the
funds ava~lable under SB821.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. To apply for all funds available to the City
of Santa Mon~ca allocated for Blkeways and Pedestrlan facllitles
(SB821) .
SECTION 2. To authorlze the City Manager as the Clty'S
authorlzed slgnature and deslgnated contact person.
SECTION 3. The Clty Clerk shall certlfy to the adoptlon
of thlS resolutlon, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
