RESOLUTION NO. 6932(CCS)
RESOLUTION OF TilE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS UNDER
THE REGIONAL COMPETITIVE PROGRAM OF THE CALIFORNIA PARK
AND RECREATIONAL FACILITIES ACT OF 1984 FOR DEVELOPMENT
OF GRANT SCHOOL PLAYGROUND.
WHEREAS, the people of the State of Callfornla have enacted
the the Callfornla Park and Recreational Facllltles Act of 1984,
WhlCh provldes funds to the State of Callfornla and lts pOll tical
subdlVlsions for developlng facllltles for publlC recreatlonal
purposes; and
WHEREAS, the State Department of 'arks and Recreation has
been delegated the responslblllty for the admlnistratlon of the
program wlthln the state, settlng up necessary procedures govern-
lng application by local agencles under the program; and
WHEREAS, sald procedures establlshed by the State Department
of Parks and Recreatlon requlre the appllcant to certlfy by
resolutlon the approval of appllcatlons before submlssion of
sald appllcatlons to the state; and

WHEREAS, the Clty desires to make an appllcatlon under sald
procedures for the development of the Grant School Playground;
and
WHEREAS, said appllcatlons contain assurances that the appll-
cant must comply with; and
WHEREAS, the appllcant agency will enter lnto an agreement
wlth U,e State of Callfornla for development, rehabllltatlon or
restoratlon of the proJect; and
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
The Clty Councll approves the fillng of an ap-
pllcatlon for 19B4 state grant asslstance for the above proJect.
SECTION 2. The Clty Councll certlfies that the City under-
stands the assurances and certlflcatlon In the appllcation.
SECTION 3.
The Clty Councll certifles that the Clty has or
will have sufflclent funds to operate and malntaln the proJect if
the project lS selected for state grant funding.

SECTION 4.
The Clty Councll certlfles that the Clty wlII
provide constructlon plans and specificatlons to the state wlthln
one year of the approprlatlon of funds under thls program and
wlll commence work lmrnediately after state approval.
SECTION 5.
The Clty Councll appolnts the City Manager as
agent of the Clty of Santa Monica to conduct all negotlatlons,
execute and submit all documents lncludlng but not limited to
appllcat~ons, agreements, amendments, payment requests, and 50
on, which may be necessary for the completlon of the aforemen-
tloned proJect.
SECTION 6.
The Clty Councll appolnts the Plannlng Director
as Plannlng Agency Representatlve for sald agency wlth authorlza-
tlon to sign the appllcatlon form cover page.
SECTION 7.
The City Clerk shall certlfy to the adoption of
tlus resolutlon and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.
