RESOLUTION NO. 6934(CCS)
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS UNDER
THE REGIONAL COMPETITIVE PROGRAM OF THE CALIFORNIA PARK
AND RECREATIONAL FACILITIES ACT OF 1984 FOR DEVELOPMENT
OF ROGERS SCHOOL PLAYGROUND.
WHEREAS, the people of the State of Cal~forn~a have enacted
the the California Park and Recreat~onal Fac~l~t~es Act of 1984,
which prov~des funds to the State of Cal~forn~a and ~ts pol~t~cal
subd~v~s~ons for develop~ng fac~l~ties for publ~c recreat~onal
purposes; and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Rec~eat~on has
been delegated the respons~b~l~ty for the adm~n~strat~on of the
program within the state, setting up necessary procedures govern-
ing appl~cat~on by local agencies under the program; and
WHEREAS, sa~d procedures establ~shed by the State Department
of Parks and Recreat~on require the appl~cant to cert~fy by
resolution the approval of appl~cat~ons before subm~ss~on of
sa~d appl~cat~ons to the state; and

WHEREAS, the City deSlres to make an appllcatlon under sald
procedures for the development of the Rogers School Playground;
and
WHEREAS, sald applicatlons contaln assurances that the appll-
cant must comply with; and
WHEREAS, the applicant agency wlll enter lnto an agreement
wlth the State of Callfornla for development, rehabilltatlon or
restoratlon of the proJect; and
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Clty Counell approves the fillng of an ap-
plicatlon for 1984 state grant assistance for the above proJect.
SECTION 2.
The Clty Councll certifles that the Clty under-
stands the assurances and certlflcation In the appllcatlon.
SECTION 3.
The Clty Counell certlfles that the Clty has or
wlll have sufflclent funds to operate and malntalil the proJect lf
the proJect lS selected for state grant fundlng.

SECTION 4.
The Clty Councll certlfies that the Clty wll1
provide construction plans and speclficatlons to the state wlthln
one year of the approprlatlon of funds under thlS program and
wlll commence work lmmedlately after state approval.
SECTION 5. The Clty Councll appolnts the City Manager as
agent of the Clty of Santa Monlca to conduct all negotlatlons,
execute and submlt all documents lncludlng but not llmlted to
appllcatlons, agreements, amendments, payment requests, and so
on, WhlCh may be necessary for the completlon of the aforemen-
tloned project.
SECTION 6.
The Clty Council appolnts the Plannlng Dlrector
as Plannlng Agency Representatlve for sald agency with authorlza-
tlon to slgn the appllcation form cover page.
SECTION 7.
The Clty Clerk shall certify to the adoptlon of
thls resolutlon and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.
