RESOLUTION NO.6935(CCS)
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS UNDER
THE REGIONAL COMPETITIVE PROGRM1 OF THE CALIFORNIA PARK
AND RECREATIONAL FACILITIES ACT OF 1984 FOR DEVELOPMENT
OF ROOSEVELT SCHOOL PLAYGROUND.
WHEREAS, the people of the State of Callfornla have enacted
the the Callfornia Park and Recreatlonal Facl1ltles Act of 1984,
WhlCh provldes funds to the State of Callfornia and lts polltlcal
subdivislons for developlng facl1ltles for publlC recreatlonal
purposes; and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recr~ation has
been delegated the responsibl1lty for the admlnlstration of the
program wlthin the state, settlng up necessary procedures govern-
ing application by local agencies under the program; and
WHEREAS, sald procedures establlshed by the State Department
of Parks and Recreatlon require the appllcant to certlfy by
resolutlon the approval of applicatlons before submission of
sald applications to the state; and

WHEREAS, the Clty deslres to make an applicatlon under said
procedures for the development of the Roosevelt School Play-
ground; and
WHEREAS, said appllcatlons contaln assurances that the appll-
cant must comply with; and
WHEREAS, the appllcant agency wlll enter lnto an agreement
wlth the State of Californla for development, rehabllltatlon or
restoratlon of the project; and
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Clty Councll approves the flllng of an ap-
pllcatlon for 1984 state grant asslstance for the above project.
SECTION 2. The Clty Councll certlfies that the City under-
stands the assurances and certlfication ln the appllcation.
SECTION 3. The City Councll certlfles that the Clty has or
wlll have sufflclent funds to operate and malntaln the proJect lf
the proJect is selected for state grant fundlng.

SECTION 4. The Clty Councl1 certifies that the Clty wll1
provlde constructlon plans and speclflcatlons to the state wlthin
one year of the appropriatlon of funds under thlS program and
will commence work lInmedlately after state approval.
SECTION 5. The City Council appolnts the City Manager as
agent of the Clty of Santa Monlca to conduct all negotlations,
execute and submlt all documents lncludlng but not limlted to
appllcatlons, agreements, amendments, payment requests, and so
on, WhlCh may be necessary for the completlon of the aforemen-
tloned proJect.
SECTION 6.
The Clty Council appolnts the Plannlng Dlrector
as Plannlng Agency Representatlve for said agency wlth authorlza-
tlon to sign the application form cover page.
SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoptlon of
thlS resolutlon and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.
