A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA REQUESTING THE STATE OF
CALIFORNIA TO RELINQUISH STATE ROUTE 187 IN
INTS EXISTING CONDITION TO THE CITY AND
WAIVING THE 90 DAY WAITING PERIOD FOR LOCAL
AGENCY PROTEST
WHEREAS, the C1ty of Santa Monica adopted a resolut1on
requesting the State of Cal1fornia to rel1nquish State Route 187
1n December, 1982; and
WHEREAS, to expedlte the relinqu1shment of State Route
187 the Clty of Santa Mon1ca 1S w1ll1ng to accept the roadway In
its exist1ng condlt1on; and
WHEREAS, that Slnce the C1ty has requested the
relinquishment of State Route 187 that the 90 day waiting per10d
for local agency protest 1S not necessary.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the CIty of Santa Mon1ca requests the
State of CalIforn1a to rel1nquish State Route 187 1n ltS eX1st1ng
condltlon.
SECTION 2. That the C1ty of Santa Mon1ca wa1ves the 90
day wa1t1ng period for local agency protest.
SECTION 3.
The C1ty Clerk shall certlfy to the
adoptlon of th1S Resolut1on, and thenceforth and thereafter the
same shall be In full force and effect.
