MO~ICA SETTING A HEARING FOR THE PURPOSE OF DETERMINING
WHETHER OR NOT THE PUBLIC CONVEKIEKCE AND NECESSITY
REQUIRE THE CONSTRUCTION OF CONCRETE GUTTERS AND STREET
RESURFACING A~D APPURTENANT WORK OK VARIOUS CITY STREETS

WHEREAS, the Cl.ty Counc-Ll of the Clty of Santa M.onlca
proposes to lnltlate proceedlngs under the Improvement Act of
1911
for
the
constructlon
of
concrete
gutters
and
street
resurfaclng, and

Santa Honlca shall hdve prescrlbed, the City Councll by no less
than
four-flfths
vote
of
all
members
thereof,

determlnes that the pub11e convenlence and necessity requ1.re the

WHEREAS, Streets and Hlghways Code Sectlon 2804 prov~des

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COU~CIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
The

proceedings for the l.TIstallatlon of concrete gutters. street
re5urfaclng and appurtenant work on the streets shown on City
Drawl~g Ko. 5614 and generally known as:
23rd Street between Santa lionlca and Broadway
Schader Drlve between Cloverfleld to west end
And those commerclal,

SECTION 2.
The total estLmated cost of the proposed
1.roprove~ent 15 $835,210.
SECTION 3.
Improvements shall be conducted under the
Improvement Act of 1911, '...hu:h 1.5 Division 7 of the Streets and
H1ghways Code of the State of Callfornia.
SE.CTION 4.
The proposed work or lmprovement 1n the
opinlon of C1Cy Councl,l of the Cl,ty of Santa Monlca 1.5 of more
than local or ordlnary publlC beneflt, and the Clty Councll
hereby proposes
that

property owners Ln the dlstrlct in the Clty of Santa MorrLca to be
benefltted by sald work or lmprovement to be assessed to pay

in the Off1ce of the Clty Englneer. The IDap hereby 15 referred
to and shall govern for all detalls as to the extent of sald
assessment dlstrict.
The assessment district includes in general
the l~ts and parcels descr1bed ln Sectlon 1 above but reterence
hereby 1S made to sald Drawlng for all detalls as to the extent
of sald assessoent dlstrlct and for any varlatlon bet~een the

The Superl.ntendent of Streets shall cause to
