A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA WAIVING FORMAL BID PROCEDURE AND
AUTHORIZING DIRECT NEGOTIATION FOR PURCHASE OF REFUSE
LANDFILL SERVICES
WHEREAS, the C1 ty COU!1C 11 has d eterml!'.ed that the
purchase of la~df1ll refuse serVlces may be made without
advert1s1ng for blds because to advertIse for bIds would be to ~o
avail a~d would Cduse u~~ecessary expe~se a~d delay,
NOW, THEREFORE. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the purchase of landflll serV1ces may
be purchased more favorable 1'1 the open market W1 thaut further
compl1a~ce to Sectlon 2508 of the Mur:1clpal Code.
SECTION 2. The C1 t Y Manager 1S hereby author 1 zed to
'1egot1ate PI the oper. market for the procurement of la~df1ll
serVIces for the Ge~eral Serv1ces Departme'1t for the per10d of
May 13, 1986 to May 14, 1987 w1th two one year rer,ewal optlO~S.
SECTION 3. The C1ty Clerk shall cert1fy to the
adoptlor: of th1S Resolutlon, a~d thenceforth a"1d thereafter the
same shall be 1'1 full force a"1d effect.
