A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
ADOPTING AN ACCOUNTING ORDER REGARDING
"UNIVERSAL REMOTEII CONTROL DEVICE RATES
OF CENTURY SOUTHWEST CABLE TELEVISION, INC.
WHEREAS, the Clty of Santa Monica (the IIC1ty") became
certified to regulate basic cable service rates and associated
charges as of October 7, 1993, and has followed regulations
prescribed by the Federal Communications Commlssion ("FCC") for the
regulation of the basic serVlce tier and assoc1ated charges (the
IIFCC Rulesll); and
WHEREAS, the City has not yet completed its review of the May
19. 1995 rate fil1ng for the II universal remote" control dev1ce by
Century Southwest Cable Televislon, Inc. (the IlCompanyll) and has
not reached a declsion regarding the reasonableness of the
Company's proposed rates for such dev1ce; and
WHEREAS, the City is not yet 1n a position to 1ssue a rate
decision at this time Slnce the Company has not submitted
sufficient informat1on for the city to reach a rate decls1on;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS'
SECTION 1.
Pursuant to 47 C F.R. Section 76 933(c) of the
FCC Rules, the Company 1S hereby dlrected, from the date of this
Order untll the date the Company implements any rate declslon

issued by the Clty, to keep an accurate account of all amounts
received, and on whose behalf such amounts were paid, for the
"Unlversal Remotell control device.
SECTION 2.
The City reserves all rights it has under the
FCC Rules, lncluding the right to establish reasonable rates and
order rate refunds, lf the City flnds that the Company's rates are
unreasonable under the FCC Rules, includlng any modiflcations or
amendments to such regulations
SECTION 3.
The City Manager shall cause to be delivered a
copy of this Order to the Company.
SECTION 4.
The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Resolutlon, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.
