FINANCE:MD:RB:DC\DOCFEERE Santa Monica, California Counc~l Meet~ng of October 10, 1995 RESOLUTION NO. 8944 (City Council Series) A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA REVISING FEES FOR THE DUPLICATION OF PUBLIC DOCUMENTS WHEREAS, State Government Code Sect~on 6257 (Public Records Act) states that the fee that government agencies charge for the dupllcatlon of public documents should be the actual cost of duplicatlOnj and WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monlca has recently completed an analYSls of the fees charged by varlOUS City departments for the dupllcat~on of public documents; and WHEREAS, it was determlned that in some cases, the amounts charged by the City needed to be adJusted to reflect the actual cost of duplication; and WHEREAS, lt is the policy of the Clty of Santa Monlca to charge for the fully allowable costs of services provided by the City Staff when such serv~ces benefit indlvldual users rather than members of the community as a whole; and WHEREAS, Ordlnance Number 1754 (CCS) (the II Ordinance" , adopted July 12, 1994, governs the settlng of the amount of user e It fees or fees for serVlces provlded to or for the benefit of partlcular lndlviduals rather than the general publlc, and WHEREAS, the Ordinance allows such user fees or fees for serVlces to be set by ordinance, by a resolutlon adopted by the City Councilor by any other means authorized by law; and WHEREAS, the City desires to reVlse eXlstlng fees for the duplicatlon of publlC documents by this resolutlon, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The fee for the dupllcatlon of public documents by means of a standard photocopy machine is hereby establlshed at $.20 (20 cents) per page for all documents except for documents for which a fee is statutorlly set. SECTION 2.
