A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
AUTHORIZING THE HOLDING OF A PARADE OF SEPTEMBER 16, 1995
ON A ROUTE OTHER THAN ~HE OFFICIAL CITY PARADE ROUTE
WHEREAS, pursuant to Sectlon 4.08.580 of the Santa Monica
MunlClpal Code, the City Councll may authorize a parade route as
set forth hereln,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
That on Septewber 16, 1995 at 9:00 a.m.
partlclpants in the u.S. Constltution Day Parade are authorlzed to
conduct a parade along the followlng route:
Staglng on Maln Street between Colorado Boulevard and the
CiV1C Audltorlum, proceeding south on Maln Street
crosslng the southernmost Clty limits
SECTION 2. Permit to conduct t~e parade 18 granted upon the
followlng conditions:
a. That parade unlts may not be brought to the staglng area
prlor to 6.00 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, 1995.
b. That duratlon of the closure of Main Street be limlted to
two hours, from 9 a.m. to 11.00 a.m.

c, That the Organlzers cooperate absolutely with Santa
Monica Pollce, traffic control, sequencing parade unlts to provide
for the cross traffic at regular lntervals at the slgnalized
intersections at pica Boulevard, Ocean Park Boulevard, and Hill
Street.
d. That any servlce not provlded by the City such as
barrlcading and coning of streets and posting of direct lanaI signs
be assumed and pald by the Organizers.
e. That one week ln advance of the parade date, the
Organlzers notify all residents and buslnesses on and within three
blocks west, east, north, and Bouch of the parade route about the
event and alternate traffic routes, after approval of the
notlflcatlon letter or fIler by the Clty.
f. That the Organlzers have a volunteer follow each
equestrlan unlt throughout the parade route to plck up any
dropplngs so that they do not enter the storm dralns.
g. That any and all permits from the City of Los Angeles and
County of Los Angeles be flIed wlth the Clty of Santa Monlca prlor
to the evenc date.
SECTION 3.
The Clty Clerk shall certlfy to the adoptlon of
thlS Resolutlon, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
