A RESOLUTI ON OF THE CITY COUNC I L OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA APPROPRIATING FISCAL YEAR 1988-89 FUNDS TO GANN'ED
RESERVE AND/OR DESIGNATED BALANCE SHEET ACCOUNTS
WHEREAS, under the provl s 1 ons of Art i c 1 e XI lIB of the Ca 1 iforn i a
Constitution, a city 1S authorized to appropriate to a Gann'ed reserve and/or
designated balance sheet accounts the difference between actual spending
subject to the Gann Appropriations Limit and the City's Gann Appropriations
Limlt for that fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, appropriating available funds to Gann/ed reserve and/or
designated balance sheet accounts is in the public interest because
establlShment of Gann I ed reserve and/or designated bal ance sheet accounts
increases the abillty of the City Council to respond to the service needs of
the citizens of the City of Santa Monica,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. All Fiscal Year 1988-89 General Fund and Recreation and
Parks Facil it ies Fund appropri at ions, excl usi ve of Federal or State grant
appropriations, shall be adJusted to actuals as determlned by the City's
annual financlal audit as set forth in the City's Fiscal Year 1988-89
Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, and the difference between the lesser
of $8,536,817 or actual expenditures and encumbrances subject to limitation as
determined by the City1s annual financlal audit as set forth in the City's
Fiscal Year 1988-89 Comprehensive Annual Financlal Report for these Funds and

"-'the City's Fiscal Ye~988-89 Gann Approprlations Li~, to the extent funds
are avail abl e, is hereby appropri ated to reserve and/or designated bal ance
sheet accounts in these respective Funds.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
effect.
