RESOLUTION NO. 7619(CCS)
(CITY COUNCIL SERIES)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA SETTING GENERAL SERVICES
DEPARTMENT FEES
WHEREAS, the city of Santa Monica recently completed a
comprehensive analysis of all user fees charged by the General
Services Department; and
WHEREAS, it was determined that the current user fees
charged by the General services Department do not reflect the
full costs incurred in the provision of related services and the
value of City landi and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the City of Santa Monica to
charge for the full costs of services provided by City staff when
such services benefit individual users rather than members of the
community as a whole, as well as for the full value of City land
encroached upon either temporarily or permanently; and
WHEREAS, Municipal code section 7163 authorizes the setting
of plan check and field inspection fees by resolution; and
WHEREAS, Municipal Code Section 7151 authorizes the setting
of fees for the use of public property by resolution,

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS;
SECTION 1. Pursuant to Municipal Code Section 7163 the
following fees are established:
PLAN CHECK: For each Plan Check and Inspection conducted by
the General services Department, the following fees shall be
charged:
single Family
Under $10,000 valuation
$10,000 and over valuation
No change in square footage
New Construction
Multi Family
Under $10,000 valuation
$10,000 and over valuation
No change in square footage
New Construction
commercial
Under $10,000 valuation
$10,000 and over valuation
No change in square footage

SECTION 2: Pursuant to Municipal Code Section 7151, the
following fees are established:
TEMPORARY USE OF PUBLIC PROPERTY: For temporary use of
public property, the following fees shall be charged:

60 day increments thereafter
Residential
1 - 7 days
8 - 30 days
60 day increments thererafter

SECTION 3. No application, request for review, or appeal
shall be filed or processed until the fee has been paid as
provided for in this Resolution.
SECTION 4. The fees set forth in section 1 of this
resolution shall be effective on May 26, 1988 and the fees set
forth in Section 2 of this resolution shall be effective on May
26, 1988.
SECTION 5. The city Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.
