A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO
ORDER THE VACATION OF A PORTION OF A CERTAIN
STREET KNOWN AS TWENTY-FOURTH STREET BETWEEN
SANTA MONICA BOULEVARD AND SANTA MONICA PLACE
SOUTH, IN THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
The City Council of the City of Santa
Monica hereby declares its intention to order the vacation of all
of that portion of Twenty-Fourth street, 60 feet in width, which
is described as follows: the Northeasterly boundary of which is
the Southwesterly boundary of Lot 3 and the 20 foot extension of
said Southwesterly boundary to the Southeast, all as shown in
Tract No. 4208 in the City of Santa Monica, county of Los
Angeles, state of California, as per Map recorded in Book 45,
Page 8, of Maps in the Official Records of the County Recorder of
Said County.
SECTION 2 .
The city Council of the city of Santa
Monica, in vacating said portion of Twenty-Fourth street between
Santa Monica Boulevard and Santa Monica Place South intends to
reserve and except from said vacation an easement, the extent of
which spans the entire width and length of said street for the
purpose of constructing, maintaining, operating, replacing,
removing, and renewing all sanitary sewers, water mains, and
other public utility facilities and appurtenant structures and

Monica finds that the public convenience and necessity require
such reservation.
SECTION 3.
Oscar Katz, Trustee of the Oscar Katz's
Trust, in consideration of the aforementioned vacation will grant
to the City of Santa Monica a twelve foot wide strip of land for
the creation of a righthand-turn lane described as follows: a
strip of land, 12.00 feet in width, the Southwesterly boundary of
which is the Northwesterly 100.00 feet of the Southwesterly
boundary of Lot 5 of Schader's Addition, as shown in Book 6, Page
67, of Maps, in the City of Santa Monica, County of Los Angeles,
state of california, on record in the Office of the County
Recorder of Said County.
SECTION 4.
The city Council of the City of Santa
Monica, in vacating the above-mentioned portion of Twenty-fourth
street, elects to proceed under and in accordance with the
provisions of the Public streets, Highways and Service Easements
Vacation Law, streets and Highways Code Section 8300 et seq.
SECTION 5. The hour of 7:30 o'clock p.m. of the 12th
day of January, 1988, in the Council Chamber in city Hall, Santa
Monica, California, will be and the same hereby is fixed as the
time and place when and where all persons interested in or
obj ecting to the proposed vacation may appear before the city
council and offer evidence in relation thereto.
SECTION 6.
The Superintendent of Streets of the city
of Santa Monica hereby is directed to cause Notices of street

Vacation to be posted as required by streets and Highways Code
Section 8323.
SECTION '. The City clerk shall certify the adoption
of this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
