A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A GRANT OF EASEMENT FOR
CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE OF ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT
LOCATED IN MARINE PARK
WHEREAS,
the Southern California Edison Company
requires a Grant of Easement for construction and maintenance of
electrical equipment to provide continued service to the City of
Santa Monica; and
WHEREAS, in order to provide the required service
the use of public property is required~ and
WHEREAS, Southern California Edison Company desires
that the City grant an easement for the use of the public
property; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that an easement is of
direct benefit to the City of Santa Monica,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Grant of Easement to southern
California Edison Company is approved and the City Manager is
authorized to execute the Grant of Easement attached hereto and
more fully described in Drawing No. 4417 on file in the Office of
the City Engineer.

SECTION
2.
The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect.

CITY OF SANTA HOHICA, a California roonicipa1 corporation (hereinafter referred to as .Grantor"),
hereby grants to SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON COMPANY, a corporation, its successors and assigns
(hereinafter referred to as "Grantee"), an easement and right of way to construct, use, maintain, operate,
alter, .dd to. repair, replace, reconstruct. inspect and rennve at any time and fran time to time
underground electrical supply systems and c<<m1lJnication systems (hereinafter referred to as "systl!lllS").
consisting of wires, underground conduits, cables, vaults, manholes, handholes, and including above-ground
enclosures, markers and concrete pads and other appurtenant fixtures and equipment necessary or useful for
distributing electrical energy and for transmitting intelligence by electrical means, in, on, over. under,
across and along that certain real property in the County of LOS flNGELES, State of Californh, described
as follows:
The southwesterly 6 feet of the northwesterly 98.15 feet of Lot 7 of Mrs. S. L. Sessions's
Subdivision, as per map recorded in Book 11, page 24 of Miscellaneous Records, in the Office of
Recorder of said County.
The Grantor agrees for Itself, Hs successors and assigns not to erect. place or maintain, nor to
permit the erection, placement or maintenance of any building, planter boxes, urth fill or other
structures except walls and fences on the above described real property. The Grantee, and its
contractors, agents and ~loyees, shall have the right to trim or cut tree roots as may endanger or
interfere with said systl!lllS and Ishall have free access to said systl!lllS and every part thereof, at all
tirr.!s, for the purpose of exercising the rights herein granted: provided, however, that in making any
excavation on said property of tile Grantor(s). the Grantee shall make the same in such a manner as will
cause the least injury to tile surface of the ground around such excavation, and shall replace the earth so
removed by it and restore the surface of the ground to as near the same condition as it was prior to such
excavation as is practicable
