COURT AND FIFTH STREET IN THE CITY OF SANTA

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA

DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the city Council of the City of Santa
Monica, having heard the evidence offered in relation to the
proposed vacation of that portion of Dewey Street, as shown in
Drawing No. 4413 on file in the Office of the city Engineer,
located between Fourth Court and Fifth street, shown as an alley
in Block A of Vawter Marine street Tract, in the City of Santa
Monica, County of Los Angeles, State of California, as per map
recorded in Book 9, Page 144 of Maps, in the Office of the County
Recorder of said County, and bounded as follows:
On the Northwest by the Southeasterly line of lot 10 in
Block A of said Tract; on the Northeast by the Northwesterly
prolongation of the Southwesterly line of Fifth Avenue, 60
feet in width, as shown on map of Tract No. 6622 in the city
of Los Angeles, County of Los Angeles, State of California,
as per map recorded in Book 71, page 82 of Maps, in the
office of said County Recorder; on the Southeast by the
Southeasterly line of said Vawter Marine Street Tract, said
Southeasterly line also being the Southeasterly boundary
line of the City of Santa Monica; and on the Southwest by

the Southeasterly prolongation of the Southwesterly line of
Lot 10 in Block A of said Vawter Marine street Tract,
hereby finds from all of the evidence submitted that the portion
of the alley above referred to and proposed to be vacated by
Resolution No. 7573 (CCS) is unnecessary for present or
prospective street purposes and the vacation is consistent with
the General Plan of the City of Santa Monica. For full
particulars, reference hereby is made to Resolution No. 7573.
SECTION 2. The City council of the City of Santa
Monica, in vacating said portion of Dewey Street, intends to
reserve and except from said vacation an easement over the
southeasterly 11 feet of said portion of Dewey street intended to
be vacated, for the purpose of constructing, maintaining,
operating, replacing, removing and renewing all sanitary sewers,
water mains and other public utility facilities and appurtenant
structures. The City Council of the City of Santa Monica finds
that pUblic convenience and necessity require such reservation.
SECTION 3. The portion of Dewey Street as herein
described is hereby vacated.
SECTION 4. Pursuant to streets and Highways Code
Section 8325, the City Clerk shall also cause a copy of this
Resolution to be recorded in the office of the county Recorder of
the County of Los Angeles. Upon such recordings, the vacation
shall be complete.

SECTION 5. The city Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
