A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA ESTABLISHING
AN ANNUAL CONSUMER PRICE INDEX INCREASE ON WATER RATES AND FEES
WHEREAS, the City Council may establish, amend or revise from time to time by
resolution the rates and service charges to be charged for supplYing water servIce to any
customer pursuant to Section 7 12010 of the Santa Manics MUnicipal Code, and
WHEREAS, the City faces Increased costs of providing water service due to Inflation
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS
SECTION 1
As of July 1, 1999, the bl-monthly fixed servIce fee for domestic and
landscape metered customers IS hereby established as follows

SECTION 4 BeginnIng on July 1, 2000, and on July 1 of each fiscal year thereafter,
water rates andlor fees shall be administratively revised In a manner so as to Increase water
sales revenue by a factor equal to the difference In the Los Angeles-Rlverslde-Orange Consumer
Pnce Index for Wage Earners and Clencal Workers for the 12 month penod February through
February of the pnor fiscal year
Section 5 The City Clerk shalf certify to the adoption of this Resolution, and thenceforth
and thereafter the same shall be In full force and effect
