A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA AMENDING SECTION 2A OF RESOLUTION NUMBER 5421
(CCS) INCREASING PARKING LOT RATES ON THE SANTA MONICA
PIER AND FINDING THAT PARKING LOT RATE INCREASES ARE
EXEMPT FROM THE PROVISIONS OF THE CALIFORNIA
ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS
SECTION 1 SubsectlOn A ofSectlOn 2 of ResolutlOn Number 5421 (CCS) IS amended
to read as follows
A The rates to be charged shall be fixed by the City Manger from tIme to time,
but in no event shall exceed Seven Dollars ($7 00) per day
SECTION 2 The City CouncIl finds that the establishment, modIfication, strnctunng,
restructuring, or approval of parkmg lot rates on the Santa Monica PIer contamed m SectlOn 1 IS
for the purpose of meetmg operatmg expenses, mcludmg employee wage rates and fnnge
benefits and/or obtammg funds for capital projects necessary to mamtam servIce wtthin eXIStIng
ServIce areas

SECTION 3 The Cay CouncIl hereby finds as follows
A The mcrease ill parkmg lot rates on the Santa MOnIca PIer is
estabhshed to meet operatmg expenses, mcluding employee wage rates and fnnge
benefits, and/or obtain funds for capItal projects necessary to mamtam servIce
wlthm eXlstmg servIce areas
SECTION 4 Pursuant to Public Resources Code SectIon 21080(b)(8), the rate mcrease
provIded for in SectIon 1 is exempt from the provIsIons of the CahfornIa EnvIronmental Quahty
Act of 1970, Pubhc Resources Code SectIons 21000 et seq
SECTION 5 ResolutIon Number 7415 (CCS) IS repealed
SECTION 6 The CIty Clerk shall certIfy to the adoptIon of this ResolutIon, and
thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be m full force and effect
