RESOLUTION NO. 9282
(CITY COUNCIL SERIES)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF A PROPOSAL AND THE SIGNING OF A
CONTRACT TO PROVIDE MEAL SERVICES FOR ELDERLY PERSONS
WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles Department of
Community and Senior Citizens SerVlces has been awarded Federal
funds for provldlng services for the elderly under the Older
Americans Act, and
WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles is making available its
Older American Act funds to cltles In the CountYi and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica wlshes to apply for Older
Amerlcans Act funds to flnance ltS hot lunch program for seniors
and its home dellvered meals for homebound seniors programi and
WHEREAS, It lS necessary that the City Council of the City
of Santa Monica approve the submittal of a proposal for Older
Americans Act funds; and
WHEREAS, It lS necessary that the Clty Councll of the City
of Santa Monica designate and authorize a representative to slgn
the contract for Older Amerlcans Act funds on behalf of the City,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS.

SECTION 1. The City Councll approves the submittal of a proposal
to the County of Los Angeles for Older Americans Act funds to be
used ror the Cityrs hot lunch program for seniors and its home
dellvered meals for homebound seniors program.
SECTION 2. The City Council authorlzes the City Manager to sign
the contract for Older American Act funds and all documents
necessary to accompany said contract, lncludlng any contract
amendments during the 1998/99 Flscal Year.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolutlon, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in
full force and effect.
