AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A HISTORICAL
PROPERTY CONTRACT IN ACCORDANCE \\11TH GOVERi'JMENT

LOCATED AT 2402 FOliRTH STREET. #6
\VHEREAS, Government Code SectIOn 50280 et seq authonzes a CIty to enter mto a
hIstoncal property contract With the ov.ner of any qualIfied hIstorical property to restrIct the use
of such property so that It retams Its hlstoncally SIgnIficant charactenstlcs m return for whIch the
property owner obtams property tax relIef;
WHEREAS, Santa MOnIca MUnICIpal Code SectIOn 9 36 270(g) proVIdes that deSIgnated
structures of ment. landmarks, and contnbutmg structures located m hIstone dlstncts that are
pnvately ovvned shall be conSIdered qualified lustoncal propertIes elIgIble to enter mto hIstorIcal
property contracts WIth the CIty upon resolutlon by the Cay Councd,
WHEREAS, the property located at 2402 Fourth Street. #6 IS a deSIgnated CIty landmark
and the owner of the property has filed an applIcatIOn to enter mto a hlstoncal property contract
WIth the City,
WHEREAS. the Landmarks CommIssIOn revIewed the o\\ner's applIcatIOn at Its
February 9, 1998 meetmg and dIrected CIty Staff to forward a recommendatlon to the Cay
Councd m support of the applIcatIon.

WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that It is approprIate for the City to enter
into a hIstorical property contract WIth the owner of the property located at 2402 Fourth Street,

NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANr A MONICA
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS
SECTION 1 Pursuant to Santa Moruca Muruclpal Code SectIon 9 36 270(g), the City
Counc:tl authOrIzes the CIty Manager to enter mto a hIstoncal property contract with the owner of
the property located at 2402 Fourth Street, Santa Moruca, California III accordance WIth
Government Code SectIOn 50280 .e1 se,!
SECTION 2
The City Clerk shall certify to the adoptIOn of this ResolutIOn and
thenceforth the same shall be m full force and effect
