RESOLUTION NUMBER 9336 (CCS)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DECLARING THAT THE CITY-OWNED PROPERTY AT 1833 18TH STREET IS NO
LONGER NEEDED FOR THE PURPOSE IT WAS ACQUIRED NOR FOR ANY OTHER
PUBLIC PURPOSE
WHEREAS, the City purchased the property at 1833 18th Street for
$155,143 uSing federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds In 1986,
and
WHEREAS, the City leased the property to the Ocean Park
Community Center (OPCC) for use as a youth shelter, Steppmg Stone, until July of
1995, and
WHEREAS, the OPCC closed Steppmg Stone In July of 1995 and the
property has been vacant for over three years, and
WHEREAS, the City plans to sell the property and dedicate the
proceeds of the sale to another CDBG eligible project,
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS
SECTION 1 The CIty-owned property located at 1833 18th Street In
Santa Monica IS no longer needed for the purpose for which It was acqUired nor tor any
other public purpose
SECTION 2 The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of thiS
Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be In full force and effect
