A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNC=L OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA CONFIRMING THE ASSESSMENT COSTS AND TH~ REPORT OF
THE SUPERINTENDENT OF STREETS REGARDING ttEPAIRS ?O
JAMAGED SIDEWALKS, DRIVEWAYS, CURBS AND REMOVAL OF
DAMAGED PAVEMENT IN THE P~~KWAY AREA ON VARIOUS STREETS

WHEREAS, the Superlntendent of Streets of the Cl cy of
Santa Monlca, pursuant to Sectlons 5600-5630 of the Streets and
Hlghways Code, commenced proceedlngs co cause the repalr of damaged
sidewalks, driveways, curbs, and removal o~ damaged parkway
pavement in the City of Santa Monica at
1027 12TH STREET, 1225 15TH STREET, 918 16TH STREET, 211 17TH
STREET, 2201 21ST STREET, 2405 21ST STREET, 2642 31ST STREET, 243:
32ND STREET, 2508 32ND STREET, 2803 ARIZONA AVENUE, 421 ASHLAND
AVENUE, 423 ASHLAND AVENUE, 702 ASHLAND AVENLE, 706 ASHLAND AVENUE,
2449 CALIFORNIA AVENUE, 822 CEDAR STREET, 2216 DE~AWARE AVENUE,
1033 GRANT STREET, 1110 GRANT STREET, 1121 GRANT STREET, 2116 LA
MESA DR, 203 MONTANA AVENUE, 1718 ROBSON AVE, 1724 ROBSON AVE, 211i
SANTA MONICA BOULEVARD, 1815 TENTH ST, 1819 TENTH ST, 1855 TENTH
ST, 1863 TENTH BT, 960 THIRD STREET,
all wlthin the Clty of Santa
Monlca; and
WHEREAS, Slxty (60) days after sald notlce was served, the
work had not been completed by the owners or persons ln possession
of the affected propertles, and the Superlntendent of Streets
caused the work to be donei and
WHEREAS, the Superlntendent of Streets gave not~ce to
property owners as required by Sectlon 56:6 of the Styeets a~d

WHEREAS, the Superintendent of Streets dld file wlth the
City Council of the City of Santa Monlca a report of repalrs and
costs as requlred by Sectlon 5617 of the Stree~s and Highways Code;
and
WHEREAS, upon the cay and hour flxed fer hear::cng by
Resolut~on Number 9012 (CCS) the Clty Council er the City of Santa
Monica will hear and pass upon the report of the Superlntendent of
Streets together wlth all objectlons and protests as required by
Sectlon 5618 of the Streets and H~ghways Code,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The reo or'.: of the Superlntendent of Stree1:.S
heretofore filed and above-described be, and the same hereby lS,
confirmed.
SECTION 2. All pretests and Ob]ectlons of every klnd ana
nature to the report of the S~perintende~t of Streets be and the
same hereby are, overruled a~d denied.
SECTION 3 The cost of the repairs, as set forth In ~he
report of the Super~ntendent of Streets, shall be assessed against
the properties hereln described, WhlCh properties fyont t~e
sidewalk upon wh~ch the repalrs were made.
SECTION 4. If such assessment lS net paid wlthln the time
permitted by law, the same shall constitute a speclal assessment
agalnst and llen on the propert~es t~erein descrlbed lTI the amount
set forth ln the report of the Superlntendent of Streets, whlch
lien shall contlnue untll the assessment ~8 paid or until It ~s

discharged of record
SECTION 5. If the assessment is not paid withln the tiTe
perm~tted by law, the Super~ntendent of Streets, ln accordance wlth
Section 5628 of the Streets and Hlghways Code, shall dellver a
Notlce of Lien, prepared in the manner requlred by Sectlon 5626 of
the Streets and Hlghways Code, to the County Audltor who shall
collect the assessment together wlth all otcer taxes against Lhe
property.
SECTION 6. The Clty Clerk shall certify to the adoptlon of
this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.
