A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF A PROPOSAL AND THE SIGNING OF A
CONTRACT TO PROVIDE MEAL SERVICES FOR ELDERLY PERSONS
WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles Department of Communlty and
Senlor Cltlzens SerVlces has been awarded Federal funds for providlng
serVlces for the elderly under the Older Americans Acti and
WHEREAS, The County of Los Angeles is maklng avallable its
Older American Act funds to cities ln the CountYi and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monlca wlshes to apply for Older
Amerlcans Act funds to finance its hot lunch program for seniors and
its home dellvered meals for homebound senlors program, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that the City Council of the City of
Santa Monlca approve the submittal of a proposal for Older Americans
Act funds, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that the City Councll of the Clty of
Santa Monlca deslgnate and authorlze a representative to sign the
contract for Older Amerlcans Act funds on behalf of the City,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS.
SECTION 1
The Clty Councll approves the submittal of a proposal to

the County of Los Angeles for Older Americans Act funds to be used for
the City's hot lunch program for seniors and its home del~vered meals
for homebound seniors program
SECTION 2. The C~ty Councll authorlzes the City Manager or, in hlS or
her absence, the Assistant City Manager to act as the authorlzed
representative to sign the contract for Older American Act funds and
all documents necessary to accompany sald contract, lncluding all
amendments within the fiscal year 96/97.
SECTION 3
The Clty Clerk shall certlfy to the adoption of th~s
Resolutlon, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in
full force and effect
