A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF TRANSPORTATION
TO FILE A GRANT APPLICATION WITH THE CALIFORNIA
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR SECTION 26 TRAINING FUNDS
WHEREAS, the Department of Transportation of the City of
Santa Monica (hereinafter referred to as "City") operates a fixed
route transit system in Los Angeles County; and
WHEREAS, the Federal Transit Administration (hereinafter
referred to as "FTA") provides training funds through the Training
Fellowship element of the FTA state Planning and Research Grant
Program: and
WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation
(hereinafter referred to as "Caltrans"), on behalf of the state,
reviews and approves grants to transit systems in the state for
training under the Transit Fellowship element;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1 .
The City I S Department of Transportation is
authorized to submit a grant application to the FTA and Caltrans
for a Training Fellowship element grant.
SECTION 2. The Director of Transportation is authorized to
execute a grant agreement on behalf of the City of Santa Monica for

use of the Training Fellowship funds.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Resolutions, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.
