A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
AUTHORIZING THE HOLDING OF A PARADE ON NOVEMBER 14, 1997 ON
A ROUTE OTHER THAN THE OFFICIAL CITY PARADE ROUTE
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 4 08.580 of the Santa MOnica MUnicipal Code,
the City Council may authonze a parade route as set forth herein,
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS.
SECTION 1 That on November 14, 1997 at 10 00 a.m participants In the WIll
Rogers Elementary School Blue Ribbon Parade are authonzed to conduct a parade
along the follOWing route
Staging to take place on the Will Rogers Elementary School campus. Parade to
begin In front of the school's entrance and to proceed, In the street, north on 14th
Street, west on Pearl Street, south on Euclid, east on Pine Street, and back to the
school where the parade Will disband
SECTION 2. Permission to conduct the parade IS granted upon the follOWing
conditions:
a That duration of the parade be limited to a maximum of one half-hour (not
including staging time).
b. That any service not provided by the City, such as barncadlng and coning
of streets, be assumed and paid by the organizers

That orga.ers be responsible for posting "Te'Orary No Parking" signs
along the parade route at least 24 hours In advance and removing them Immediately
following the parade.
d. That all litter be cleared from the streets and sidewalks Immediately
following the parade.
e That four (4) Santa MOnica police officers be hired for safety and traffiC
control,
f That reSidents along the parade route be notified In writing about the
parade at least three days In advance
g. That the parade dIsband on the Rogers School campus
h That an "Indemnity and Hold Harmless Agreement" be executed and
returned to the Events Office by November 12, 1997
That General Liability Insurance be retamed and name the City of Santa
MOnica, members of the City CounCil, boards, commiSSions, officers, agents,
employees, and volunteers as additional msured
SECTION 3. The CIty Clerk shall certIfy to the adoptIon of thIS ResolutIon, and
thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be In full force and effect
