A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A ONE TIME GRANT
FROM THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE FOR DOMESTIC
VIOLENCE PROSECUTION
WHEREAS, the City Attorney's Office actively prosecutes crimes Involving domestic
Violence, and
WHEREAS, the effective prosecution of these crimes requires a substantial
commitment of tIme and resources, and
WHEREAS, the State of California, Department of Justice, has a Spousal Abuser
Prosecution Program through which It provIdes grants to local prosecutorlal agencies to
be used to enhance the prosecution of domestic Violence crimes, and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney's Office has applied for and has been awarded a one-
time grant In the amount of Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,00000) from the Department
of Justice,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS

SECTION 1 The acceptance of a one-tIme grant from the Spousal Abuser
Prosecution Program of the California Department of Justice In the amount of Fifteen
Thousand Dollars ($15,000 00) IS hereby approved
SECTION 2 The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of thiS Resolution, and
thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be In full force and effect
