RESOLUTION NUMBER 9191 (CCS)

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA AMENDING THE
LAND USE MAP OF THE GENERAL PLAN OF
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
WHEREAS, an application for a General Plan Amendment was filed
by a property owner pursuant to Santa Monica Municipal Code Section
9.04.20.18.0BO(c); and
WHEREAS, the application requested that the Land Use Map of
the General Plan be amended to change the land use designation for
a portion of the property located at 2415- 2449 Main Street
("Property") from "medium density residential" to "service and
specialty commercial, II (IIProposed Land Use Map Amendmentll); and
WHEREAS, on April 16, 1997 and May 28, 1997, public hearings
regarding the Proposed Land Use Map Amendment were held before the
Planning Commission, and the Planning Commission recommended that
the City Council adopt the Proposed Land Use Map Amendment; and
WHEREAS, on August 12, 1997 the City Council held a public
hearing on the Proposed Land Use Map Amendment; and

WHEREAS, concurrently with the processing of this Proposed
Land Use Map Amendment, the C1ty Council is considering an
amendment to the Official Districtlng Map of the City which, after
adoption, w1l1 change the Zoning Designation of the property from
OP-2 to CM-2; and
WHEREAS, the Proposed Land Use Map Amendment and proposed
amendment to the Official Districting Map of the City are
appropriate to provide consistency between the Land Use Map
designation for the Property, the zoning of the Property, and the
current and historical development and use of the Property;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The document entitled Land Use Map attached hereto
as Exhibit A and incorporated herein by this reference is hereby
adopted and certified as the official Land Use Map of the General
Plan for the City of Santa Monica and thus replaces the Land Use
Map adopted in 1984 pursuant to city Council Resolution Number 6938
( CCS) .

SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.
