A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
ESTABLISHING USER FEES FOR RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS AND SERVICES OF
THE DEP ARTl\'IENT OF COMt'\'lUl''ITY A::\-n CULTURAL SERVICES OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA.
WHEREAS, the recreatIOnal programs offered by the CommunIty and Cultural ServIces
Department should mclude a \vIde varIety of actIvitIes to appeal to dIfferent Interests, ages. and
ablhtIes and not be hnnted merely to phYSICal actIVItIes. outdoor actlvmes, da}1Ime actIvIties, or to
chIldren or others of speCIal categones, and
WHEREAS, tradItIOnal recreatIOn programs Include some actIvItIes that entaIl expense
beyond the normal cost of actIvItles In the general program, and
WHEREAS, It IS the pohcy of the CIty of Santa Moruca to charge for the costs of these
serVIces proVIded by CIty staffwhen such servIces benefit IndIvIdual users rather than members of
the COmmlUllty as a whole, and
\V1fEREAS. SectIOn 272 010 of the Santa MOllIca MunICIpal Code (the Code) authonzes
the CIty to establIsh and set the amount of user fees or fees for servIces provIded to or for the benefit
of partIcular mdlvlduals rather than the general pubhc IncludIng, but not hnnted to, fees for
recreatIOn, youth, and sports programs; and
\VHEREAS, SectIon 272 020 of the Code allows such user fees or fees for servIces to be set
by ordmance, by a resolutIOn adopted by the Crty CouncIlor by any other means authonzed by law,
NOW, THEREFORE. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SA-'J"T A MONICA DOES

B. MuniCipal Sports The fees charged for mUnIcipal sport leagues shall cover all costs
for materials, offiCIals, hghts, trophies and the CIty overhead factor
(1) Lawn Bowling Green Fee - 53000 per year per person, or $1000 for three
months
(2) Gym User Fee - The fees charged for gym use shall cover the cost of light,
mamtenance and eqmpment, and shall be as follows
