RESOLUTION NUMBER 9157 (CCS)
A RESOLUTION OF TIIE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO FILE A GRANT APPLICATION WITH THE
FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION, AN OPERATING
ADMINISTRATION OF THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION,
FOR FEDERAL TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE AUTHORIZED BY 49 U.S.c.
CHAPTER 53, TITLE 23 UNITED STATES CODE, AND OTHER FEDERAL STATUTES
ADMINISTERED BY THE FEDERAL lRANSIT ADMINISTRATION.
WHEREAS, the Federal TransportatIOn AdullnIstrator has been delegated authority to
award Federal finanCial asSIstance for a transportation project;
WHEREAS. the City of Santa MOnIca Wishes to apply for such aSSIstance;
WHEREAS. the grant or cooperative agreement for Federal financial asSIstance will
Impose certain obligatIons upon the City of Santa MOnIca, and may reqwre the CIty of Santa
MOnIca to prOVIde the local share of the project cost;
WHEREAS. the City of Santa Momca has proVIded or will provide all annual
certIficatIons and assurances to the Federal TransIt AdmmlstratIon reqwred for the project;
NOW. THEREFORE. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS
SECTION 1. The CIty Manager IS authonzed to execute and file an applIcatIOn for
Federal aSSIstance on behalf of the CIty of Santa MOllica With the Federal TranSIt
AdnunIstratlon for Federal assistance authonzed by 49 V.S C. chapter 53, TItle 23, Umted States
Code. or other Federal statutes authonzmg a project adnumstered by the Federal Transit
AdrmmstratIon. as the Designated Recipient to apply for UrbanIzed Area Formula Program
ASSistance
SECTION 2. The CIty Manager IS authonzed to execute and file With Its applIcatIOns

the annual certIficatIons and assurances and other documents the Federal Transportation
AdminIstratIOn requITes before awardmg a Federal assIstance grant or cooperatIve agreement.
SECTION 3. The City Manager IS authonzed to execute grant and cooperative
agreements With the Federal TransIt AdmmistratIon on behalf of the City of Santa Momca.
SECTION 4. The CIty Clerk shall certIfy to the adoptIon of the Resolution, and
thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be m full force and effect.
