RESOLUTION NO.9156
(CITY COUNCIL SERIES)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF A PROPOSAL AND THE SIGNING OF A
CONTRACT TO PROVIDE MEAL SERVICES FOR ELDERLY PERSONS
WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles Department of
Community and Senior Citizens Services has been awarded Federal
funds for providing services for the elderly under the Older
Americans Act; and
WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles 18 making available its
Older American Act funds to cltles in the County; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monlca wishes to apply for Older
,
Americans Act funds to flnance its hot lunch program for senlors
and its home dellvered meals for homebound seniors program; and
WHEREAS, lt is necessary that the Clty Council of the City
of Santa Monica approve the submlttal of a proposal for Older
Americans Act funds; and
WHEREAS, it lS necessary that the City Councll of the Clty
of Santa Monica designate and authorize a representative to sign

the contract for Older Americans Act funds on behalf of the City,

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The C1ty Council approves the subm1ttal of a proposal
to the County of Los Angeles for Older Americans Act funds to be
used for the City's hot lunch program for seniors and 1ts home
de11vered meals for homebound seniors program.

SECTION 2. The City Council authorizes the City Manager to sign
the contract for Older Amer1can Act funds and all documents
necessary to accompany said contract, 1ncluding any contract
amendments during the 1997/98 Fiscal Year
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certlfy to the adoption of this
Resolut1on, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in
full force and effect
