(CITY COUNCIL SERIES)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA URGING CITIZENS TO
EXERCISE THE VOTING FRANCHISE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the United States of America is a participatory
democracy; and,
WHEREAS, the exercise of the voting franchise is the
best evidence of a free and democratic society; and,
WHEREAS, the California primary election is scheduled for
June 4th of this year.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
That the week of May 27th be proclaimed Get-Ou~he-Vote
Week.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 14th day of MAY
1974.
