A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF "THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA ORDERING THE VACATION OF A
PORTION OF THAT CERTAIN ALLEY KNOWN AS
TWENTIETH COURT FROM COLORADO AVENUE TO A
POINT 300 FEET NORTHWESTERLY THEREOF, ALL IN
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA .

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Santa
Monica having heard the evidence offered in relation to the proposed
vacation of that certain alley known as Twentieth Court from Colorado
Avenue to a point 300 feet northwesterly thereof, as shown on the map
of Tmm of Santa Monica, in the City of Santa Monica, County of Los
Angeles, state of California, recorded in Book 39, Pages 45-51 of
Miscellaneous Records, in the office of the Recorder of said County,
hereby finds from all of the evidence submitted that the portion of

the alley above referred to and proposed to be vacated by Resolution
No. 4520 (City Council Series) is unnecessary for present or prospec-
tive street purposes. For full particulars reference hereby is made
to said Resolution No. 4520 (City Council Series) and to ~~p No. 4183
on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City; which map is
entitled, l~lley in Town of Santa Monica Tract, Block 179, to be
vacated under the Street Vacation Act. of 1941, Together with Alley
Easement to be Conveyed to the City", dated May 16, 1974.
The City Council of the City of Santa Monica, in vacating
said portion of said ~lentieth Court, reserves and excepts from
said vacation an easement of full width over the full length of said
portion of said Court, for the purpose of constructing, maintaining,
operating, replacing, removing and renewing all sanitary sewers,
storm drains, water mains and other public utility facilities and
appurtenant structures; and it is further stipulated that the

vacating of said portion of Twentieth Court is dependent on the
dedication of property and construction of that portion of Broadway
Place South from ~qentieth Street to nqentieth Court as indicated
on said Map No. 4183.
It therefore is ordered that said portion of said alley
be and the same hereby is vacated but at such time that the Orchard
Tract property on the northeasterly side of the alley is separated
from COID~on ownership with the Town of Santa Monica property on the
southwesterly side of the alley this resolution shall be null and
void, ~~d this alley shall become a public way.
SECTION 2. The Cit;y Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution and the same shall be in full force and effect on
a~d after July 11 , 1974. The City Clerk shall also cause a copy
of this resolution to be recorded in the office of the County
Recorder of the County of Los Angeles.
