RESOLUTION NO. 4540 (CCS)
(CITY COUNCIL SERIES)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING THE REPAIR OF SANTA
MONICA PIER MERRY-GO-ROUND BUILDING, AND WAIVE
CALL FOR BIDS.
WHEREAS, the Merry-go-round building must be repaired
and;
WHEREAS, the City has canvassed eight (8) known contractors
and received bids fram three (3) bidders, namely Driver-Eddy Construction
Company, Don Koppel Construction and Norm Berg.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is authorized to
purchase the required repair without calling for further formal
bids, fram Driver-Eddy Construction Company.
SECTION 2. The City Council finds that the purchase of
the required repair is of necessity to the City and that to
advertise formally for bids would be to no avail and would cause
unnecessary expense and delay.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED THIS- 20th day of August
1974.
