A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA APPROVING AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
AN AGREEMENT WITH THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MON!CA FOR THE PAYMENT
OF CONTRACT FEES RELATIVE TO THE MONTANA
AVENUE BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT ASSESSMENT
DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, the City has heretofore, pursuant to
Ordinance No. 960 (CCS) established a parking and business
improvement area more fully described in said Ordinance.
pursuant to the Parking and Business Improvement Area Law of
1965, for the purpose of raising revenues to be expended for
the purposes specified in said Ordinance; and.
WHEREAS, pursuant to said Ordinance, it is
contemplated that the CITY OF SANTA MONICA and the CHAMBER
OF COMMERCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA shall enter into a
contract under which said CHAMBER would promote retail trade
activities in said area; and,
WHEREAS, the CHAMBER OF COMMERCE OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA is willing to perform the services required
under Ordinance No. 960 CCCS);
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the contract between the CITY
OF SANTA MONICA and the CHAMBER OF COMMERCE OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA for the expenditure of funds collected pursuant
to Ordinance No. 960 (ceS) for general promotion of retail
trade activit1es within the boundaries of the Business
Improvement Assessment District c~eated by said Ordinance
be and is hereby approved.
