RESOLUTION DECLARING THE NEED FOR A HOUSING AUTHORITY IN THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA, CALiFORNIA, AND APPOINTING THE COMMISSIONERS
AND CHAIRMAN THEREOF.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The City Council of the City of Santa Monica, California, hereby
determines, finds and declares, in pursuance of the Housing Authorities Law, as
amended, that:
(a) Insanitary and unsafe inhabited dwelling accommodations exist in the
City of Santa Monica, California;
(b) There is a shortage of safe and sanitary dwelling accommodations in the
City of Santa Monica, California, available to persons of low income at rentals they
can afford;
(c) There is need for a Housing Authority to function in the City of Santa
Monica, Cal iforn ia.
SECTION 2. In pursuance of the authority vested in the City Council of the
City of Santa Monica, California, by Sections 34270 and 24372 of the Housing
Authorities Law, as amended, the seven persons hereinafter named are hereby appointed
to serve as Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Monica,
from the 7th day of January 1975, for the number of years appearing after their
names respectively.

Chairman of the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Monica. The City Clerk j-
authorized and directed to issue a certificate evidencing the appointment of the
above named Commissioners and Chairman and to file said certificate in the office
of the Clerk of the City of Santa Monica, California.
SECTION 3. This Resolution is adopted pursuant to the provisions of Section
34242 of the california Health and Safety Code and shall become effective immediat
ADOPTED AND APPROVED THIS 7th DAY OF JANUARY 1975.

DESIGNATION OF THE FIRST CHAIRMAN.
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Santa Monica, California, held a
duly authorized meeting on the 7th
day of January \975; and
WHEREAS, at said meeting Resolution No.
4577 (CCS) entitled "Resolution
Declaring the Need for a Housing Authority in the City of Santa Monica, California,
and Appointing the Commissioners and Chairman Thereof" was passed and adopted.
NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the provisions of the aforesaid Resolution and
by virtue of my office as Mayor of said City Council, I hereby certify that the
seven (7) persons hereinafter named have been appointed by said City Council to
serve as Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Monica,
for the number of years appearing after their names, respectively, from the
