A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL or
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA SUPPORTING
THE JUVENILE JUSTICE AND DELINQUENCY
PREVENTION ACT OF 1974 AND URGING THE
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF
GOVERNMENTS TO MAKE REQUESTS FOR LOCAL
FUNDING THEREUNDER.
WHEREAS, the Congress of the United States has
passed, and the President of the Unlted States has signed
the Juvenile Just~ce Delinquency Prevent~on Act of 1974; and,
WHEREAS, sa~d Act provides for technical assistance
to local public agencles in developlng and implementing
Juvenile delinquency programs; and,
WHEREAS, said Act authorizes a transfer of federal
funds, through grants or contracts with local public agenc~es,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
Sfu~TA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS;
SECTION 1. That the C~ty of Santa Monica supports
the purposes and terms of the Juven~le Justice and Dellnquency
Prevention Act of 1974.
SECTION 2. That the Southern Callfornla Associatlon
of Governments be and is hereby requested by the Clty of
Santa Monlca to endorse the purpose and terms of the Juveulle
Justice and De11nguency Preventlon Act of 1974 at lts regular
meetlng of January 13, 1975.
SECTION 3. That the Southern California ASSoclatlon
of Governments be and is hereby urged to petltion the
Presldent of the Un~ted States to make funds available under
the Juvenlle Justice and Delinquency Preventlon Act of 1974
for use by local governmental agencles, ~ncludlng the C~ty
