A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF
BOOKB INDING SERVICES ON THE OPEN MARKET, AND
WAIVING CALL FOR FORMAL BIDS
WHEREAS, The City Library requires rebinding of books
and periodicals; and
WHEREAS, It has heretofore been determined by contractual
experience, formal bidding procedures and market research that, to-
date, book binders have been unresponsive to the city's needs; and
WHEREAS, To further advertise for bids for said book-
binding services would be to no avail and would cause unnecessary
expense and delay;
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City of Santa Monica has need of
bookbinding service for rebinding of books and periodicals.
SECTION 2. That to further advertise for bids for said
bookbinding service would be to no avail and would cause unnecessary
expense and delay.
SECTION 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
purchase said bookbinding service on the open market, without
further advertising for bids.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
