A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA ENDORSING
A CLEAN UP AND BEAUTIFICATION PROGRAl1
IN SANTA MONICA DURING ITS CENTENNIAL
YEAR 1975.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY or SANTA MONICA DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the C~ty of Santa Mon~ca will celebrate
~ts Centenn~a1 Year dur~ng the year of 1975; and
WHEREAS, the Women's Counc~l ~n cooperat~on with
the Chamber of Commerce and City of Santa Mon~ca ~s conduct~ng
an Env~ronmental Cleanup and Beaut~f~cat~on campaign for the
entire lOOth b~rthday year; and
WHEREAS, ~t w~ll take the efforts of each c~t~zen
Ch1ld, teenager, adult and sen~or c~t~zen to help make the
City bright and glisten~ng; and
WHEREAS, Santa Monica w~ll have hosts of v~sitors
th~s year; many guests will be com~ng to partic~pate 1n the
Centenn~al act~v~ties; and
WHEREAS, the Women's Council and Santa Monica
Chamber of Commerce seek the full support of the Santa Mon~ca
City Counc~l and var10US departments to successfully reach
the goal of a clean and sparkllng city;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and
C~ty Counc~l of the Clty of Santa Monlca do support and offer
the complete cooperatlon of the C~ty and its departments ~n
the citywlde Envlronmental Clean-up and Beautificatlon Program
durlng Santa Monlca's Centennlal Year;

Introduction
This report transmits a copy of a resolutlon endorsing
the Santa Monica beautif~cation program to be conducted dur~ng
the Centennial Year of the City.
Background
The Women's Caunell is cooperatlng wlth the Chamber
of Commerce and the Clty of Santa Monica for the purpose of
conductlng an Environmental Clean-up and Beautlflcation campaign
durlng this year of the City's Centennial celebratlon. The
attached resolution is an official statement on the part of the
City endorslng this project and offering the full and complete
cooperatlon of the departments of the Clty to assist the Women's
Counc~l In ach~eving ~ts goals in th~s program.
