RESOLUTION NO. 4604 (CCS)

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZ ING THE PURCHASE OF
A PARCEL OF LAND FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
(PORTION OF TRACT 974, LOT 8.)
WHEREAS, The City of Santa Monica Transportation Depart-
ment has future need of additional land for parking at its Sixth
Street Terminal; and
WHEREAS, The State of California has offered to sell a
parcel (approx. 2590 sq. ft.) of its property at the northeast
corner of 5th Street and Colorado Avenue for Fourteen Thousand
One Hundred Ninety dollars ($14,190.00); and
WHEREAS, To advertise for bids for said property would
be to no avail and would cause unnecessary expense and delay;
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City of Santa Monica has need of
that parcel of land approximating 2590 sq. ft. located at the
northeast corner of 5th Street and Colorado Avenue.
SECTION 2. That to advertise for bids for said land
would he to no avail and would cause unnecessary expense and
delay.
SECTION 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
purchase said land from the State of California for Fourteen
Thousand One Hundred Ninety dollars ($14,190.00), without
advertising for bids.
SECTION 4. Tbe City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
