A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ONE
PANEL EXPRESS TRUCK FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
AND WAIVING CALL FOR BIDS
WHEREAS, the Police Department of the City of Santa
Monica has need of a subcompact panel express truck for use in
crime investigation operations; and
WHEREAS, the City has canvassed (4) known vendors of
such vehicles, and received bids from three (3) bidders, namely
Palisades Chevrolet, E. A. Nugent Chevrolet and Owen Keown
Chevrolet; and
WHEREAS, to further advertise for bids for said vehicle
would be to no avail and would cause unnecessary expense and delay.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is authorized to
purchase the required vehicle on the open market without calling
for formal bids.
SECTION 2. The City Council finds that the purchase of
the required vehicle is of necessity to the City and that to
advertise formally for bids would be to avail and would cause
unnecessary expense and delay.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.

1975.
