A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 4580 APPROVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL JANUARY 7, 1975
WHEREAS. the origInal resolution authorized the CIty Manager to execute and h1e
an amendment to a cap1.tal grant apphcatlon on behalf of the Santa MonIca MunICIpal
Bus LInes wIth the U. S. Department of Transportation to aId In the fInancing of
sixty-nine mobile radios and necessary supporting equIpment;
WHEREAS, the U. S. Departm.ent of TransportatIon has advised the Santa MOnIca
MUniCipal Bus Lmes to consider mstallation of mobile radios on all of the City's
regular serVIce buses;
WHEREAS, the contract for f1.nanCIal aSsIstance Will Impose certaIn obligatIOns
upon the apphcant, IncludIng the prOVISlOn by It of the local share of project costs;
and
WHEREAS, It IS the goal of the Apphcant that mmority bus1.ness enterprIse be
utilIzed to the fullest extent possible in connection wIth this proJect, and that de-
fIn1.hve procedures shall be established and admJ.nlstered to ensure that m1.nOTIty
bUSInesses shall have the maxImum feasIble opportunity to compete for contracts
when procurlng constructIon contracts, supplIes, equipment contracts, or con-
sultant and other serv""J.ces;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the CIty Council of the City of Santa
MonIca as follows:

amendment to a capital grant apphcation on behalf of the
Santa MonIca MunICIpal Bus LInes WIth the U. S. Department
of TransportatIon to a1.d m the fmancIng of fifty addlhonal
Iuoblle radiOS, makl.ng a total of one hundred nIneteen mobIle
radlos and supportIng equ1.pment.
That the CIty Manager IS authorized to execute and file with
such amendment an assurance or any other document re-
quued by the U. S. Department of TransportatIOn effecuatmg
the purpose s of Title VI of the CiVIl RIghts Act of 1964.
That James D. WIllIams, CIty Manager, IS authorized to
furnIsh such addltlonal informatlOn as the U. S. Department
of Transportation may reqUIre In connectIon WIth the amend-
ment or the project.
That the CIty Manager 1S authorIzed to set forth and execute
afflrmahve mInorIty bUSlness poliCIes In connectIon WIth
the pro]ece s procurement needs.
