A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA FINDING AND
DETERHINING THE PUBLIC INTEREST,
CONVENIENCE, AND NECESSITY FOR
ACQUIRING fu~D AUTHORIZING THE CONDEM-
NATION OF THE FEE TITLE TO CERTAIN REAL
PROPERTY FOR A PUBLIC USE, TO WIT: AN
ANIMAL SHELTER.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
That the City Council of the Clty of
Santa Monlca flnds and deterrolnes that the publlC interest,
convenlence and necesslty requlre the constructlon of an anlrnal
shelter.
SECTION 2.
That the Clty Councll of the Clty of
Santa Monica finds and determines that In order to construct
sald anlrnal shelter, the public lnterest, convenience and necesslty
requlre the acquisltlon by the Clty of Santa Monica of the fee
title ln and to the real property in this sectlon herelnafter
descrlbed. That sald real property lS sltuated ln the Clty of
Santa Monlca, County of Los Angeles, State of Californla, and lS
more partlcularly descrlbed as follows:
"Towner Terrace Tract Lots 107, 108
and 109.
The above descrlbed parcel contalns
23,590 square feet, more or less."
SECTION 3.
That the Clty Council of the City of
Santa Monloa finds and determlnes:

A. That an animal shelter 1S a use authorlzed
by law.
B. That the public interest I convenience and
necesSlty require the acquisltion of said real property for a
slte for said animal shelter.
c. That the acqu1sition of the fee tltle to sald
real property 1S necessary for the constructlon of sald anlmal
shelter.
D. That said real property to be used for sald
anlmal shelter 15 located in a manner WhlCh will be most compatible
for the greatest public good and least private lnJury.
SECTION 4.
That the City Attorney of the City of
Santa Monlca lS hereby authorized, empowered I and directed to
bring an action or actlons in the name of the City of Santa Monica
in the Superior Court of the State of Cal1fornia, for the County
of Los Angeles, for the condemnation of the fee title ln and to
the real property described in Section 2 of this resolution, and
to take all steps necessary for the condemnation of the fee tltle
to said real property ln the name of the City of Santa Monical
and to acquire lmmediate possesslon of all of sald property.
SECTION 5.
The Clty Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolut1on and thenceforth and thereafter the
same shall be ln full force and effect.
