RESOLUTION NO. 4622 (CCS)

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA COMMENDING
COUNCILMAN HILLIARD L. LAWSON FOR
HIS SERVICE TO THE CITY.
WHEREAS, Hilllard L. Lawson has served on the Clty
Council of the Clty of Santa Monica from October of 1973, untl1
Aprl1 of 1975; and
WHEREAS, prlor to his unanimous appointment to the
Clty Counel1, Hilliard L. Lawson has been a resldent of the
City of Santa Monica Slnce 1921; and
WHEREAS, Hllliard L. Lawson has also served as a
member of the Santa Monica Parklng Authority, and as a member
of the Santa Monica Redevelopment Agency; and
WHEREAS, Hilllard L. Lawson was appointed to Slt on
the Board of Trustees of the Los Angeles County West Mosquito
Abatement Distrlct; and
WHEREAS, Hilllard L. Lawson has served the Clty of
Santa Mon~ca through membershlp ln the Parent Teachers Assoclatlon,
the MasonlC Lodge, and the KlwanlS Club; and
l~EREAS, Hilliard L. Lawson has been a member of the
Santa Mon~ca College Advisory Board and a trustee of the Calvalry
Baptlst Church; and
WHEREAS, Hilliard L. Lawson had been an employee of the
Unlted States Post Office, servlng Santa Monica for thlrty-one
years untll retlrement in 1969; and
WHEREAS, Hll1iard L. Lawson has served as an advisor
on the framing of the Santa ~bnlca City Charter; and
WHEREAS, he has devoted his tlme to these worthy causes

at great expense to his own personal 11fe and has set aside hlS
own personal business to partlcipate ln such causes;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF S&~TA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
Hllliard L. Lawson has given unselfishly
of hlmself and of hlS tlme, and he lS hereby commended for his
many services to thlS communlty.
SECTION 2.
The Clty Council of the City of Santa
Monica, on behalf of itself and on behalf of the citizens of thlS
community expresses lts profound appreciatlon to Hilliard L.
Lawson for the many contrlbutlons and years of service he has
given to the City of Santa Monlca.
SECTION 3.
The City Clerk is dlrected to send a
certlfled copy of thlS resolution to Hilllard L. Lawson.
SECTION 4.
The Clty Clerk shall certlfy to the
adoptlon of thlS resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the
same shall be ln full force and effect.
