R-4628 ...,- ..."'r CA RLeIS: j st 5-7-75 e RESOLUTION NO. 4628 eCCS) (City Council Series) A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DECLARING MAY 18, 1975 AS SANTA MONICA PIER DAY. WHEREAS, Santa Monica Mun~clpal pier was constructed ln 1920; and, WHEREAS, since that tlme it has served as a center of communlty actlv~ty and a source of recreatlon for persons throughout the County of Los Angeles; and, WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles has deslgnated the Santa Mon~ca Mun~cipal P~er as a Los Angeles County historlcal landmark; and, WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles will present thlS C~ty wlth a plaque commemorat~ng sald des~gnatlon ln a ceremony to be held at the Pler on May 18, 1975i and, WHEREAS, said plaque will be permanently ~nstalled on the Santa Monlca Municipal Pier. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the 18th day of May, 1975, be and is hereby declared as Santa Monica Pier Day. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall cert~fy to the adoptlon of this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be ln full force and effect.
