RESOLUTION NO. 4635 (CCS)

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA CLOSING
OCEAN AVENUE BETWEEN CALIFORNIA AVENUE
AND COLORADO BOULEVARD FROM 6:00 P.M.
TO MIDNIGHT, MAY 31, 1975.
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monlca is celebratlng
lts Centennlal Ann~versary; and,
WHEREAS, the Centenn~al Committee lS sponsorlng
a square dance to be held on Ocean Avenue on May 31, 1975;
and,
WHEREAS, the square dance lS ln the publlC lnterest,
and for the benef~t of the City of Santa Monica; and
WHEREAS, lt ~s necessary to restrlct all vehicles
from Ocean Avenue so that the square dance can be held ln
safety.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
That the closing of Ocean Avenue
between Callfornla and Colorado on May 31, 1975, between the
hours of 6:00 P.M. and mldnight is necessary for the safety
and protectlon of the assemblage of square dancers.
SECTION 2.
That pursuant to California Vehicle
Code Sectlon 21100(a}, Ocean Avenue between Callfornla and
Colorado, ln the City of Santa Monica, shall be barricaded
and closed to vehlcular traff~c between the hours of 6:00 P.M.
and midnight on May 31, 1975.
SECTION 3.
The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoptlon of thlS resolutlon, and thenceforth and thereafter
the same shall be in full force and effect.
