RESOLUTION NO. 4643 (CCS)

A RESOLUTION OF 'mE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO
ORDER THE VACATION OF A PORTION OF THAT
CERTAIN ALLEY KNOWN AS 'lWENTIE'l'H COURT FROM
ARIZONA AVENUE TO SANTA MONICA BOULEVARD,
AND THE ABANDONMENT OF A CERTAIN EASEMENT
LYING BE'lWEEN TWENTIETH STREET AND TWENTIETH
COURT, IN-THE -CITY OF SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CIn OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Santa
Monica hereby declares its intention to order the vacation of all
of that portion of Twentieth Court from Arizona Avenue to Santa.
Monica Boulevard, as shown on the map of Town of Santa Monica,
in the City of Santa Monica, County of Los Angeles, State of
California, recorded in Book 39, Pages 45-51 of Miscellaneous
Records and the abandonment of a five (5) foot utility ease-
ment, being the northwesterly five (5) feet of the twenty (20)
foot wide vacated alley between Twentieth Street and Twentieth
Court as described in Deed No. 288 recorded on September 11, 1929,
in Book 8274, Page 397, of official records in the office of the
Recorder of said County.
For further particulars as to the proposed vacation
and abandonment of the hereinbefore mentioned areas, reference
is made respectively to Map. No. 4216, dated June 11, 1975, now
on file in the office of the City Clerk in the City Hall, Santa
Monica, California.
SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Monica,
in vacating said portions of said TWentieth Court, and easement
hereby intends to make said vacation conditional on the relocation
of all sanitary sewers, water mains and appurtenant structures

now located within said Court and easement.
SECTION 3. The City Council of the City of Santa Monica,
in vacating the above mentioned portion of Twentieth Court from
Arizona Avenue to Santa Monica Boulevard and said easement from
Twentieth Court to Twentieth Street, elects to proceed under and in
accordance with the provisions or the I~treet vacation Act of 194111,
being Division 9, Part 3 or the Streets and Highways Code or the
State of California.
SECTION 4. That the hour of 7:30 olclock p.m. of the
22nd day of July ,1975, in the Council Chamber in the City
Hall, Santa Monica, California, be and the same hereby is fixed as
the time and place when and where all persons interested in or ob-
jecting to the proposed vacation and abandonment may appear before
the City Council and offer evidence in relation thereto.
SECTION 5. That the Street Superintendent of the City of
Santa Monica hereby is directed to cause Notices of Street Vacation
to be posted as required by the Street Vacation Act of 1941, being
Division 9, Part 3 of the streets and Highways Code, and the City
Council hereby elects to proceed under the provisions of said act.
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution of Intention and shall cause the same to be pub-
lished twice in the Evening Outlook, a newSpaper published and
circulated in the City of Santa Monica, the first of said PUblicariO
shall be not less than fifteen (15) days prior to July 22, 1975.
SECTION 7. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution and thencerorth and thereafter the same
shall be in full force and effect.
