A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF
BLACK STAGE DRAPERIES AND WAIVING CALL FOR BIDS
WHEREAS, the Civic Auditorium of the City of Santa
Monica has need of black stage draperies consisting of six stage
borders, flve pair of stage legs and one stage traveler set: and
WHEREAS, the City has canvassed three (3) known
vendors of similar items, and received bids from three bidders,
namely Curran Productlons & L~ghting Co., Will~am Samson, and
R.L. Grosh & Sons: and
WHEREAS, thlS being a h~ghly speclallzed field
and to further advertise for bids for said stage draperies would
be to no avail and would cause unnecessary expense and delay.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager lS authorized
to purchase the required stage draperies on the open market without
calling for formal bids.
SECTION 2. The City Council finds that the purchase
of the required stage draperies is of necessity to the City and that
to advertise formally for bids would be to no avail and would cause
unnecessary expense and delay.
SECTION3. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the
same shall be ~n full force and effect.
